A car is a must, then everything is within reach – be it sandy beaches, supermarkets, restaurants, cities, airport and more.<\/p>\n\n

Beaches<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Enjoy beach, sea and sun in the Aegean Sea – in the immediate vicinity, just 300 meters from our Villa Loftstyle, is a small pebble beach called Kera Beach with crystal clear waters, just down the road.<\/p>\n\n

The nearest sandy beaches in Kalyves and Almyrida with sun beds and showers are not far – reachable in maximum 5 minutes by car.<\/p>\n\n

Shopping and restaurants<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

To have everything for breakfast or to serve a dinner, in the Kalyves or Almyrida there are several bakeries, small supermarkets and a big one called Synka.<\/p>\n\n

Traditional Greek food at the tavernas on the beach in Kalyves, our favorite being Gyrothalassia. In Almyrida, some restaurants combine Greek with influences from all over the world – the food is not only a taste experience. For fish and co we recommend the restaurant Elia & Thyme. If we prefer meat, we go to Psaros.<\/p>\n\n

Cities and landscape<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Certainly the two most beautiful cities of this island are Chania and Rethymno – 15 and 30 minutes drive from our villa respectively.<\/p>\n\n

In addition to culture, the cities invite you go shopping or just enjoy a frapp\u00e9 in the cafe at the harbor, as the Cretans do.<\/p>\n\n

It takes us about half an hour to get to Chania airport, and a good 2 hours to get to Heraklion airport.<\/p>\n\n

It is not far to the mountains, in winter we are in the snow in about 30 minutes (20 peaks over 2,000 meters high). Likewise, the south with the Libyan Sea can be reached in 90 minutes by car.<\/p>\n\n
